about

I’m Jordan, a lifelong wildlife enthusiast based in York, UK. My journey started at the age of five, crouched beside a tiny backyard pond I’d built from a washing-up bowl, mesmerised by frogs and water-boatmen. That first pond sparked an enduring love of animals, especially birds and butterflies—nothing lifts my summer mornings quite like the song of a blackbird.

When the 2020 lockdowns slowed life to a pause, I rediscovered gardening as a way to invite nature closer. Plant by plant, I watched the garden fill with colour, wings and birdsong, and realised how even small spaces can become vital pit-stops for wildlife.

That realisation became Meanwood Habitats. Our goal is simple:

to create more habitat and offer more space for nature—wherever we can.

Whether you have a compact yard or an acre plot, we design and build features that make a genuine difference: wildlife ponds alive with dragonflies, nectar-rich planters for pollinators, or pocket wildflower meadows that hum with life. Just as importantly, we bring nature to you, so you can enjoy the restorative pleasure of sipping a morning tea while birds chatter nearby.

If you’d like to turn your outdoor space—large or small—into a welcoming refuge for wildlife and a daily source of calm for you, I’d love to help.
